Going up for the summit push

Hello All,

The weather is getting better with the wind slowing down up on the mountain. I am going up tomorrow to the Interim camp, and to the ABC a day after. I don’t know how long I will stay in the ABC, something between 1 and 3 days depending on weather. Then I will need 1 day to reach the North Col, and 1 day for the Camp 7,700 m. From 7,700 I am going to start in the morning for the Camp 8,300 m. in order to reach it around 3 p.m. I will be resting, boiling and drinking water there till 11 p.m., and will start for the summit at 11 p.m.  Wish me good weather! So far it looks that the summit day will be around May 25  – 26.

Yesterday I went hiking on the hill close to the Base Camp. I gained 300 m. in 1 hour, which is not bad at the altitude 5,500 m. Looks like I haven’t lost my acclimatization while seating here in BC.

I will be out of communication in the next 7 – 8 days.

Best regards,
